 What is DNS
Solution DNS or the “Domain Name System” is the largest distributed database in the world today. It is a directory service for the internet that converts memorable hostnames such as http://www.letshost.ie/ into IP addresses which networking equipment use for directing/routing requests for information. Without DNS, the Internet as we know it would not function.

The function of changing DNS on a domain means repointing where the domain is to be routed to. Delays of up to 48 hours can occur when completing this function.
